The Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation was proud to support the invaluable work of the staff at the Royal Free Hospital at the height of the COVID-19 crisis. The funding allowed the hospital to provide vital assistance to front-line NHS staff who were working under immense pressure and in the most challenging of circumstances. This included the provision of food and care packages at the end of a very long shift, to psychological support and the creation of physical respite spaces for them to connect online with their families.
As one beneficiary of the food programme reported:
“It makes me feel very special. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate it. It feels like we are being supported by the community.”
